It’s always fun to scroll Zillow and look at homes for sale. Although I may never buy a home, I love seeing gorgeous kitchens, soaking tubs, or vintage details that haven’t been renovated out of existence. Recently I came across an article on Apartment Therapy that featured color-drenched bedrooms, and now I want them in my dream-future-home-fantasy.

The article covered how award-winning home stager Jason Saft of New York City-based Staged To Sell Home transformed the bedrooms of a sprawling four-bedroom unit in The Clebourne, an Upper West Side co-op. The apartment had been sitting on the market for an astonishing 779 days, and the sellers were desperate for a change. It needed a little bit of love — and I’m all for how he transformed the bedrooms.

How the Home Stager Transformed the Kids’ Bedrooms Using Color Drenching

Saft and his team performed a complete gut renovation and repainted the home in neutral paint colors. While most of the unit was repainted in muted hues, the bedrooms were completely transformed using the color-drenching method — the kids’ bedrooms in a bright tone, and the adult bedroom in a neutral tone. Saft wanted the children’s bedrooms to stand out from the rest of the unit and be “invigorating and punchy,” which he achieved by repainting one bedroom yellow and the other one light pink.

Why I Love These Colorful Bedroom Transformations

When I saw the before-and-after photos of these kids’ bedrooms in particular, I was amazed by the huge transformations. The stager was able to infuse the rooms with so much character and intrigue through a simple repaint.

Both bedrooms appeared brighter, larger, and way more cohesive than before. I also love the furniture choices in each room — they make the bedrooms more cozy and inviting without clashing with the paint choices. I could totally picture myself in either of the spaces. So fun!
