If you’re a fan of Carrera marble, you’ll understand why Paris was so excited to come across an affordable pair of marble-topped tables on Craigslist. While she loved the tops, the ornate legs didn’t suit her style so she turned to a company that usually caters to IKEA customers to find new furniture legs to match her modern aesthetic.

From Paris: I came across twin Carrera marble coffee tables on Craigslist, and the woman who sold them to me was appalled by my level of excitement. They had been her grandmother’s who had them commissioned by interior designers in the 50’s/60’s.

Each one weighed approximately 200 lbs, but I happily brought them back to my apartment. They did come with some funky Grecian legs/trim that I enjoyed for kitsch, but not enough to keep around. I found some awesome legs on Pretty Pegs to fit my aesthetic a bit more. While they market their products as a way to step up IKEA furniture, they worked great on my tables.

I love the new result and after all was said and done I spent under $200.

Thanks for sharing, Paris!
