Name: Maria
Location: Washington, DC

Coming by this place was a happy surprise. I was looking for something close to work, in another area of the city — where things are smaller and more expensive. When the house I had my eye on did not work out, I decided to branch out and found this apartment. I fell in love with how big and bright it is.

I move every few years for work, so that poses opportunities and challenges. On the one hand, I am a permanent renter, so there will always be things that I will not be able to change about my place.

On the other hand, I get to experiment a bit more, like I don’t think I would if the place were mine (my polka dot covered wall comes to mind) and I end up finding new uses for my furniture as it needs to be shifted around.

But the best thing about all this moving around is that it ends up being a constant but ever changing source of inspiration!

Thanks, Maria!
