Name: Maura & Katarina
Location: Financial District, NYC

Twenty-one floors above it all, our home is our daily respite from NYC cacophony. Cheerful yet serene, and never without fresh flowers – it is my favorite place to recharge, host friends, work, eat, sleep, you name it!

The style of our apartment – our first shared space as a couple – was born of the merging of two very, very disparate tastes. My previous bachelorette pad was a pre-war, antique- and velvet- and vintage dog print-filled studio. Hers was a sleek and modern one bedroom with a decidedly white, black and red color story.

I don’t think either of us had to compromise to achieve the look of our current space, but the apartment’s style represents my love of feminine textures, and her love of simple and contemporary shapes.

We chose to live in the Financial District, at first, out of convenience – close to work and centrally located. But having seen this neighborhood revitalized in every way (an influx of restaurants, retail, housing, recreation and culture) over the past 18 months has kept us here.

We’re excited to be the early pioneers of our neighborhood’s emergence – from a characterless canyon of banks and offices, to bustling residential community!

Thanks, Maura & Katarina!
