Sarah Weyers has only been living in this apartment — a two-bedroom, 750-square-foot space in Vienna, Austria — for six months, but the efforts to make it “her own” started immediately. “Within about a month of moving in, most of the apartment was ready — although smaller pieces of art are added all the time,” Sarah writes.

She says it’s actually the rental’s big windows that first sold her on it — although she admits it can get a bit warm in the summertime. “But I love the amount of light I get and wouldn’t change it for the world!” The ample light combines with the rental’s white walls to create a bright, cheery space that’s also a canvas for her decor style.

“I love adding a mix of things — my grandmother’s sideboard, and around it Fall Out Boy (my favorite band) shirts or vinyls, or some more eclectic art pieces,” writes Sarah, who describes her home’s style with words like bright, creative, organized, vintage, and modern.

“The mix of things is what makes the apartment — and a person — interesting.”
