Anthropologie’s New Bowls Feel Like a Mediterranean Escape — And You’ll Use Them Every Day

One of my favorite things about spring and summer is the ability to dine outdoors. If the temperature is above 60 degrees, you’ll find me outside enjoying my work lunch or a glass of wine for happy hour. If I had my own outdoor space at home, I would take full advantage of that, too, but I don’t. Still, I’ve found that incorporating vibrant dishware into my everyday at-home dining experience boosts my mood tenfold.

Anthropologie is the place to go for cute dishware — especially now that the brand has released new seasonal collections. The one that the Apartment Therapy team can’t get enough of is the Mediterranean collection, which features 36 pieces that’ll instantly upgrade your tablescape. In looking through them, I was especially drawn to these adorable nut bowls, which come in a set of four for $64. They look so versatile, and I won’t be surprised if they become a bestseller.

These bowls are made of terracotta, which has been hand-painted and then covered in a shiny glaze. Each one has a different color scheme, so no two in the set are alike. They were designed by Suzy Karadsheh, founder of The Mediterranean Dish, and feature color palettes inspired by Karadsheh’s travels in the Mediterranean.

Because the bowls are made from durable terracotta, they’re safe to go in the dishwasher and microwave. They’re also oven-safe up to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Each one measures 2 inches tall and has a diameter of 4.25 inches, so they’re smaller than a soup or salad bowl. Instead, you can use them to serve desserts and small apps, like nuts, as their name suggests.

For one, it’s so convenient that the bowls come in a set of four. If you don’t currently own any small bowls, this purchase will have you set in one go — right in time to enjoy their sunny colors for summer. Aside from that, you can use the bowls for so many things, and I’m not just talking about dining. Sure, you could set one out with grated Parmesan to sprinkle over pasta, or enjoy a lemon sorbet in a similarly citrus-colored bowl. But the bowls could also double as trinket dishes for jewelry, or catchalls for coins, keys, matches, and more.

Although the bowls are bright and colorful, you should have no trouble incorporating them into your dishware collection. They’ll match any basic white plate set, but you can also snag some other items from the Mediterranean collection to create a more cohesive theme.
