The TikTok-Famous Stain Treatment That Saves My Kids’ Clothes is Less Than $10 and Has Near-Perfect Amazon Reviews

Marinara sauce. Mac and cheese. Every color of non-washable marker in existence. As a mom to two young boys, I’m no stranger to difficult-to-remove stains. Luckily, my kids are growing like weeds, so by the time they effectively rub pizza all over their shirts, it’s almost time for a size upgrade.

Sometimes, though, spills and splatters happen on brand-new clothes or clothes I want them to keep wearing. And that’s why I’m so glad I found this TikTok-famous stain treatment. I’m talking about Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain Treater.

If I come across a product someone else loves, and the product happens to have a near-perfect rating on Amazon, you can bet I’ll buy it (especially when said product meets a very niche need in my household). Miss Mouth’s is only $10, and according to the description, you can use it on pretty much any kind of stain (including protein stains, like poop and blood) and on all kinds of fabrics (including upholstery). I also love that it’s safe around kids and pets. I got the four-ounce bottle, which seems small, but you don’t need very much of it to see results.

I tested it out on my son’s green t-shirt, which had ketchup all over it. I rinsed the stain, sprayed two spritzes of Miss Mouth’s on the discolored area, and rubbed it in with a brush. Next, I put it in the laundry. Note: You don’t have to put your soiled item in the laundry — the product instructions say you can just rinse — but I did, because the shirt still smelled like ketchup and needed to be washed anyway. 

I washed the stained t-shirt in a normal load and then dried it, and afterward, it was like the stain never happened! All evidence of ketchup was totally gone.

Some Amazon reviewers commented that the product discolors dark clothing, but I didn’t have that problem on my son’s green shirt (I’m thinking it’s because I wet the stain first, as one reviewer suggested). If you’re worried about discoloring something, I’d definitely spot test it first. 

To make double sure it worked, I also sprayed Miss Mouth’s on an old mud stain my dog had tracked in on a pink upholstered chair. I sprayed twice, scratched with my finger, and just like that — the unsightly spot disappeared. And recently I learned this spray is also a team favorite with commerce SEO editor Sarah reporting she also swears by the spray (she notes it got turmeric out of her dishcloth!)
