Camoy Briscoe’s “Afro-modern brownstone apartment” is a 900-square-foot, one-and-a-half bedroom “gem located on the cusp of Crown Heights and Bedford Stuyvesant.” It even has a sunroof in the kitchen!

“I’ve incorporated different pieces from various Afro countries, blended with modern items doused in BEHR’s color of the year, ‘Cracked Pepper,'” Camoy explains. “My decor features high-end furniture such as a Sonoma Butterscotch sofa alongside unique finds such as a cowrie shell wall piece made in Cameroon.”

"The kitchen, nestled between the living room and kitchen, is styled with industrial floating shelves for extra storage," Camoy describes.

“I have a big personality and love bold colors like mustard and terracotta. I find a lot of inspiration in African pieces, which reflect my love for my community. Brooklyn, being a melting pot of different African cultures, inspires me to share this with my guests. I also absolutely love accent pieces; there’s not a bare wall or corner in sight within my apartment. Each accent piece has a story, from where it originates to how I received it and how I brought these pieces together,” Camoy explains.
