Things we love about this property crush:

The entry hall of this updated 1972 Houston home makes a killer first impression, punctuated by three large glass chandeliers that lead into the double-height living room, with its stunning wall of windows. Flanking the painted-brick fireplace are a pair of built-in bookcases.

Storage is plentiful throughout the home, especially in the generously-sized kitchen with its wall of tall cabinets topped with open shelving and display space, plus an island in the center of the room. In the kitchen and the entire first level is wood flooring with a distinctive black-and-white finish, which makes a strong visual impact.

A second-floor den/library overlooks the living room and benefits from the light streaming in through the wall of windows. It includes floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and ample space for seating (and lounging and napping). But perhaps the most exciting “bonus room” is the huge second-floor deck at the front of the house, which basically serves as the home’s main outdoor living space, and offers a singular view of the city.

Are you on the house hunt, or just the type of person who loves browsing real estate listings, even when you’re not in the market for a new home? Property Crush is a column where we feature actual real estate listings that get the Apartment Therapy seal of approval in regards to style (we haven’t done home inspections or anything, so don’t sue us).
