In 2018, Isa Lora completely renovated her apartment in the Verdun neighborhood of Montréal. She hired interior designer Maude Coudé to create a cozy and colorful abode for her little family, a home that was functional and had lots of storage options. They demolished walls, changed the windows, and replaced the floorboards to start. Inspired by Isa Lora’s love for modern vintage and boho vibes, Maude designed an outstanding pink kitchen that is now Isa Lora’s favorite room. Playing with different textures (like macrame, cushions, and curtains) and colorful elements such as the floral wallpaper and mustard-colored bench, the apartment is lively and anything but boring. The whole apartment really reflects Isa Lora’s personality: bubbly, eclectic, and feminine.
The proud mom of two, Nahui and Loumi, Isa Lora is also the owner of Bagel St-Lo, a restaurant a few blocks away from her place. “I’ve been living in Verdun for eight years now and I love the neighborhood for its proximity of water and close-knit community. It’s very family oriented, too.”
Apartment Therapy Survey:
My Style: Boho, relaxed
Inspiration: Love everything that is lively and stands out.
Favorite Element: Wallpaper in living room
Biggest Challenge: Being confident about the pink kitchen. People weren’t sure about it but now I really love it; it’s my favorite place in the apartment!
What Friends Say: Friends love it; they say it represents me.
Proudest DIY: No time for DIY with two kids around! But I do love the macramé lamp in the living room.
Biggest Indulgence: The chevron marble tiles in the entrance. They were expensive but I really wanted them.
Best Advice: Don’t second guess your first pick; follow your instinct.
Dream Sources: West Elm, Anthropologie.
