These Are the Most Instagrammed Houses in the World
Over the years, millions of homes have stood in as picturesque Instagram backdrops. But all in all, what are the most Instagrammed houses in the history of the app? To find out, the price comparison website Comparethemarket scoured the app’s data to identify the 10 most photographed houses. Unsurprisingly, pretty much all of these homes belonged to famous people or were used in iconic movies and films.
Coming in first with 585,667 posts is Highclere Castle, whose exterior stood in for the titular estate at the heart of the hit PBS period drama “Downton Abbey.” In real life, the Hampshire home is owned by the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon. It’s now a museum that guests can tour, learning about its rich history and maybe even imagining themselves as members of the Crawley household.
Second place goes to Graceland, with 518,330 posts. The Memphis mansion was famously home to King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley. Named a National Landmark in 2006, Graceland is now open to the public, featuring a Presley Motor Museum and various Elvis-themed exhibits. Ticket prices start at $28.
George Washington’s former home Mount Vernon takes third place with 283,993 posts. Situated in Mount Vernon, Virginia, this National Historic Landmark attracts one million history buffs each year.
