Sharing your love of houseplants isn’t just for Instagram anymore. According to All About Gardening, TikTok has become a huge outlet for at-home gardeners to share their tips, tricks, and growth with fellow plant people. And after analyzing billions of views on the platform, the site found that there’s one plant that is the star of the show with over 2.3 billion views: Aloe vera.

All About Gardening, a site dedicated to plant news and information, wanted to know which houseplant is the most aesthetically pleasing according to TikTok users. And after crunching the hashtag numbers and counting the views, aloe is the clear winner.

This may be because aloe is not only beautiful, but also easy to maintain. It requires ample sunlight, minimal water, and does well indoors.

Bamboo came in second place in All About Gardening’s study, with 1.5 billion views on TikTok. Again, bamboo is aesthetically pleasing and super easy to grow. It can survive in vases of water with rocks at the bottom rather than needing traditional soil and watering.

In third place is the pothos plant, sometimes called Devil’s Ivy, with just over 312 million views.

Monstera, often called the Swiss Cheese plant, came in fourth with 242 million views on TikTok. All About Gardening says that this plant is as easy on the eyes as it is to care for.

Snake plants and fiddle-leaf figs came next, with string of pearls, Calatheas, spider plant, Chinese money plant, and prayer plants rounding off the list.

So if you’re looking to make your houseplant collection more aesthetically pleasing, you have more than enough inspiration available for you to browse on TikTok. And if aloe isn’t already on your shelf, you may need to get on that.
