Name: Natasha
Location: Gramercy Park – Manhattan, NY

Apartment Therapy has been an inspiration as I have been renovating and decorating my new 1 BR apartment in New York’s Gramercy area. I have lived in the apartment for about half a year now. It’s a relatively small space, about 630 square feet, and like many New York apartments, only has windows only on one side.

It’s a relatively small space, about 630 square feet, and like many New York apartments, only has windows only on one side. It faces west, and while it has a view and gets some light, it’s not the brightest space. In addition the living room is long, so natural light doesn’t reach all corners. To overcome that, I used white furniture along with mirrors to attempt to correct the shape of the living room.

The bedroom is very small, but I was able to fit a queen size bed as well as two nightstands. I also installed a lot of extra storage (under sink cabinet and medicine cabinet) in the bathroom, which is also tiny, but functional now.

So, I guess small is the theme, but I think the space is very functional, inviting, and interesting.

Thanks, Natasha!
