If there’s one thing that’s almost as important as your decor itself, it’s your lighting. Your living room lighting, bedroom lighting, and even kitchen lighting can inform the mood of your house as much as your furniture and accessories, so it’s important to make sure it’s something that appeals to you. Now, while I want my lighting to be on point, I also want my lighting sources to look cute — and that’s why I’ve got my eye on the Nella Cici Lamp.

After years of trying to curate a minimalist aesthetic, I decided to turn that all around and lean into color. The Nella Cici Lamp (which was a winner in Apartment Therapy’s recent Small/Cool Design Awards!) is a great option for this — it’s a modular lamp that comes in five dual colorways: orange + blue, pink + orange, green + orange, yellow + orange, and dark blue + light blue. These can be stacked in any way you want, so you can customize your lamp. All the combinations  are bright and perfect to add a pop of color to any room — but personally, I’m a big fan of the orange with any other color, which seems like it should clash but somehow just works.

It’s topped off by Nella’s custom pleated white lampshade, which is the cherry on top of the stack of cute. It comes in both 6-inch and 8-inch stack options, though I’m personally opting for the smaller one, which fits better into my space.

It’s not just the aesthetic — all of Nella’s products are made from environmentally friendly, compostable materials, which are completely nontoxic. They’re domestically assembled in the U.S. and come with an LED energy-saving bulb. The 6” stack comes in at $148, while the 8” stack is priced at $168 — a price that’s pretty good for a high-quality lamp that’ll likely last years. Plus, you get to support a small, woman-owned business!

Both sizes are great for small spaces — you can add the Cici lamp to an end table in your living room, or use it as a reading lamp on a nightstand. Either way, it’ll add a touch of fun, playful color to your decor, which is exactly what its maker hopes for.
