Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: Finding this home was a delightful surprise. From the extra high 15-foot ceilings to the 700-square-foot private terrace, I feel incredibly lucky to live here. My partner, dog (Poof), and I have definitely made this a home in a short amount of time.
A lot of my pieces are hand-me-downs from my family home. My lamps, large gold mirror, coffee table, and glassware hutch were all taken with love. I think it looks really cool and less cookie-cutter incorporating these older pieces with modern/traditional styles. The overall palette is pretty neutral — grays, whites, and blacks, with pops of gold and silver. The art was all done by me. I love to paint, and it’s just another way to showcase my personality.
What is your favorite room and why? I love my bedroom area. The king-sized canopy bed was a no brainer and really helped divide the space. I also love all of my pillows, and I think they really bring a nice glam and global feel to the space.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Glamorous, Modern, Traditional, Antique-Chic, and Global
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I bought some new outdoor ottomans for my terrace from CB2. I wanted some more versatile seating out there. We love entertaining outside.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Try mixing in some family pieces for a more personal touch. That can be photos or artwork, or even an old club chair that you reupholstered. I am always on the hunt for that “spark.” If an item doesn’t move me, it does not come into my home. With such an open floorplan, each piece is really important, and I have carefully curated every moment in the space. If you are in a studio like me, I recommend sticking to one palette. I think it’s easier on the eyes, and then it gives you the freedom to add pops of decor. But honestly, just do whatever you want and what makes you feel comfortable.
