I am always searching for a versatile and efficient cleaning product. I don’t like spending a lot of time cleaning, and would prefer the process to be quick and easy. The fewer products I can own, the better — so a multi-use product is always welcome.

That’s why I decided to try out Norwex Power Cleaning Paste, along with its EnviroCloth, which was sent to me for testing from the company. Norwex is a Norwegian direct sales company that aims to deliver clean, natural products free of any toxins and waste.

The cleaning paste is made of eco-friendly ingredients like seed oils, aloe, and limonene, which is found in the peel of citrus fruits. Unlike many other cleaners, it doesn’t have chlorine, and it can be used on a variety of surfaces, so I tried to use it on as many as I could. Here’s how it went.

Cleaning Up the Car

I started using it on my car’s dashboard, where residue from a dragon statue my kid had made for me had melted and stuck on. Some of the clay budged, but I had to get in there with a pot scrubbing brush. In the end, the green dragon bits remained, although less prominently so.

Tackling Kitchen Surfaces

Disheartened, I came inside and tried to tackle some spots in the kitchen, including the fridge, sink, cooktop, and some cookware. My fridge frequently has sticky fingerprints all over it but with one swipe of the paste and cloth, they were gone. The stainless steel sink had water marks which disappeared quickly.

My electric cooktop, which is perpetually smudged, cleaned up pretty well, although the paste didn’t perform as well as specialty cooktop cleaners. Next, I tried it out on a well-loved pan that’s probably 20 years old, hoping it’ll make it look brand-new again. Alas, the pan looked better, but not much.

Removing Scuff Marks on Walls

With some concentrated scrubbing, it removed a scuff mark from the wall. I tried a nearby scuff mark with just the cloth and water and it didn’t budge.

Making Outdoor Furniture Shine

Finally, I took it outside and tried it on three tables: a Polywood coffee table, a metal patio table, and a tempered glass side table, and saw the best results. It cleaned all three surfaces better than any purpose cleaner I’ve used before.

Some rust stains remained on my metal table, but if I had continued to scrub and buff it out I’m certain it would fade away. It just requires more time and energy. The Polywood table had been under a tree that had dropped some sap on it and, again with repeated close scrubbing, I got the sap off. And my tempered glass side table now shines.

Final Thoughts

The Norwex Power Cleaning Paste and EnviroCloth go hand-in-hand when cleaning counters and stainless steel surfaces — making for an easy, fast shine. A little goes a long way and I appreciate that it’s made of natural ingredients and leaves no strong scent behind. However, for tougher stains, including rust and dye, it would be better to get a specialty cleaner, like Iron OUT Liquid Rust Stain Remover or Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover — just be sure to spot test before using.

I would use the cleaning paste again for cleaning tables and stainless steel surfaces. I was particularly impressed by what thorough, quick work it made of wall scuffs. However, it’s not a miracle cleaner that can do everything.
