One of the most noticeable features of my industrial-style apartment is the all-over concrete flooring. Although the floors keep my apartment cool and I don’t have to worry about using a specific type of cleaning solution on them, I do have to deep clean them often due to their stain retention. Because of my apartment’s open floor plan, the floor area of my kitchen tends to get dirty within a day. Water droplets or even the tiniest spots of grease will create a layer of gray that guests may think is part of the staining of the concrete (which is a pro, I’ll admit), but I know it needs a quick cleaning.

Quick Overview

Why I’ll Keep Using O-Cedar PACS Hard Floor Cleaner on My Floors

This “dishwasher pod style cleaner,” made from 97% naturally derived ingredients and powered by enzymes, is impressive. It quickly dissolves and is effective at getting out grime in floors. It comes in two scents: crisp citrus and lavender.

I have found that a steam mop is the most effective when deep cleaning my concrete floors, but for quick messes in my kitchen, I wanted something more efficient than just a couple of paper towels or an eraser sponge and something that would keep my hands clean and prevent me from crouching down so much.

Because my dad always raved about his O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop, I thought I’d try it. However, when I saw that O-Cedar made these convenient floor cleaning pacs (basically like dishwasher pods for the mop bucket), I knew I had to try them right away.

How to Use the O-Cedar PACS Hard Floor Cleaner

To begin, I filled the bucket with just a cup and a half of hot (but not boiling) water, as I only wanted to clean the small portion of the floor in my kitchen. I tossed in one of the Crisp Citrus pacs, each one perfectly portioned so no measuring is required, and to my surprise it dissolved almost instantly.

Then, the fun part — I soaked the super-fluffy microfiber mop head in the water, placed it in the top basin, and wrung it out using the foot pedal (my dog was especially excited and curious about this feature). With just two or three steps, the mop head is damp enough to start mopping. I repeated this process to mop my kitchen twice, specifically under my stove, and noticed a difference. My previously dull concrete floors now had a brightness and slight shine, along with a subtle citrus scent that was quite pleasant.

Final Thoughts on the O-Cedar PACS Hard Floor Cleaner

While I normally don’t mind heavy-duty floor cleaners, I appreciate that these pacs are made from 97% naturally derived ingredients and powered by enzymes. I was also impressed at how quickly these dissolved and how effective they were at getting out all that grime from my kitchen floors that typically likes to mask itself. I’ll be using these handy pacs in my kitchen and bathroom for quick cleanings, giving my steam mop (and knees!) the rest it deserves.
