Home makeovers are a lot of work. It takes plenty of time, energy, money, and creativity to pull off even a simple project. And if you’re eyeing more than one space in your home? Well, it can feel hard to know where to start and how to pull it all off without turning your entire home into a construction zone.

It’s helpful to break up projects into a single room at a time, and to cover that project on a timeline that divides up your labor and lets you take the whole thing piece by piece. That’s the genius idea behind the One Room Challenge, a makeover event that connects DIYers and home decor lovers from all over the world and tasks them with making over one room in their home on an eight-week timeline.

You might remember that Apartment Therapy partnered with One Room Challenge for the Spring 2022 session, sharing some amazing ORC projects both on our site and on our Apartment Therapy Instagram. And now, we’re back at it for the Fall 2022 challenge.

Today’s the first day of the challenge, which lasts until November 16. If you found yourself watching from the sidelines last round and want to participate this time, no worries: The challenge is free to join, and sign-ups continue until next Tuesday, October 4. (Check out One Room Challenge on Instagram and peruse the official hashtag of One Room Challenge 2022, #ORCAT, to see what past and current participants are up to.)

If you just want to follow along for inspiration, you’re in the right place! We’ll be featuring projects from One Room Challenge Fall 2022 once participants wrap up their makeovers. In the meantime, you can still catch plenty of ORC Spring 2022 participants featured in our daily Before and Afters.
