I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: It’s not easy to live a minimal decor style AND make your home warm and welcoming. There’s just something about all those white walls and sparse furnishings that can come off a little too cold, in my opinion. But it CAN be done, and Katie’s home just outside of Cologne, Germany is a great example.

Followers of her popular Instagram account, @rosexgrace, get a heaping dose of gorgeous and minimal home decor inspiration that exudes Scandinavian grace. Her secrets seem to be combining a soft range of neutrals, whites, and grays, along with mixing in plenty of textures to keep things interesting.

What’s your favorite thing about your home? I love many things in my home, especially my vase collections by Lyngby, the paintings by LouLou Avenue, and my Hongi by Karup Design.

What’s your least favorite thing about your home? I do not like our small windows, because we have very little daylight in our home. So that means all rooms are very dark most of the day. I always have to turn on the light even in the morning and the sun is out.

And unfortunately we haven’t got a garden for our children. But when it’s time to move from this house we will look for those things in a new place.

What city is your home in? How does the space itself and the decor reflect the region (if it does)? I can not say we have a certain style that could be compared to any country or city. I like to mix furniture and decoration based on my taste.

What’s the one thing that makes your space feel like home? The living room. It has to be inviting and comfortable for me. I love being able to relax on the sofa with my family and enjoy the time together.
