This Popular Laundry Hamper Doubled My Bathroom Storage Without Taking Up Extra Space
The time recently came for me to embrace the fact that I needed a stay-in-place hamper. Long story short: I hadn’t owned one since college. As a full-fledged adult with a full-fledged apartment, I wanted something that was functional and looked good. It measures approximately 29 inches high, 25 inches wide, and 13 inches deep to ensure ample space for shelving items. In a laundry room, you can easily fit detergent, wool dryer balls, and other essentials. Mine is placed in the bathroom and primarily holds towels. It’s especially convenient for guests because used towels can be tossed into the hamper and are immediately out of sight.
The frame is made from 100 percent natural bamboo, which makes the hamper very sturdy. Before I got used to having it in the bathroom, there were more than a few times I knocked into it, but I never worried that it would collapse or break. All the tools you need to assemble the hamper are packed in the box, and it took me about half an hour to put it together. It’s lightweight and can be moved around without strain, which is a plus if I ever decide to move it to another room. I can imagine it being highly effective as a nursery hamper or even a toy bin for stuffed animals, too.
To be completely honest, I hadn’t even considered the usefulness of the shelf until I actually saw it in my space. All I knew upfront was that it was a stylish hamper that I wanted to try out to ease the volume of my laundry pile. Once it was in my bathroom, I could see so many possibilities, such as the inclusion of a bathroom-friendly plant. For now, I don’t need much more than a few extra towels on it at any given time, but it’s so nice to have the additional space to set down clothing or cleaning supplies that would otherwise be in the way of the sink or counter.
