If you’re anything like me, you love a cute home decor collaboration — and a limited edition drop. Throw some holiday cheer in the mix, and well, let’s just say sign me up! So it’s no wonder I’m smitten with the launch of these toile-patterned ceramic cookie jars from the iconic snack and baked goods brand, Pepperidge Farm, and fashion designer Rachel Antonoff.

Known for her whimsical toiles that depict everything from romance novels to The Sopranos, Antonoff was the perfect person for Pepperidge Farm to tap for these pieces. For the exclusive holiday cookie jar collection, she riffed on four of the brand’s most popular cookies — buttery Chessmen, Thin & Crispy Peppermint Cocoa cookies, Linzer cookies, and Milano Slices in the peppermint flavor.

Each of these varieties sports a slightly different festive toile and colorway; the gold Chessmen design features chess pieces and ice skating, while the blue Linzer jar depicts snowflake cutouts that mimic the cookies’ design. The Peppermint Cocoa cookies are represented by a green toile, and the Milano Slices are matched with a classic red color.

“I’ve always loved a toile — it’s a true conversation print, and it can keep you company just looking at it,” Antonoff says. First created in France back in the 18th century, these pictorial patterns have been used as a means of storytelling for over 250 years. Right now, they’re tapping into the popularity of decorating with all things vintage for the holidays and beyond.

As far as the shape of the jars go, Antonoff took her inspiration for the designs from the cookies’ classic packaging. “The bag shape is iconic, and I wanted to mimic that with the jars,” says Antonoff of the almost carton-like forms that each fit a package of Pepperidge Farm cookies (and then some). “They’re beautiful for displaying anywhere, but I could see them as a set on a mantle, each filled with their namesake cookies.” They’d also be a fun, festive touch on your kitchen countertops or a dinner table.
