Get your copilot suited up and ready to scoot — this brand-new moped design allows both you and your dog to zip around the city without the need for baskets, trailers, or sidecars.

Mopet is a Japanese electric scooter that contains a small crate at the base of the vehicle meant to house smaller dogs on-the-go. The pet area is integrated into the scooter’s body directly underneath the seat and between both foot pedals, and there’s even a small opening at the top of the crate so that dogs can take a peek at their surroundings.

Even if you’re not a pet owner, Mopet’s design is great for carrying laptop bags and backpacks, groceries, or any other larger item you need to transport.

Mopet, which will be sold in both white and pink, is also completely foldable so that it easily fits in the trunk of a car. It can travel up to 37.2 miles on a single battery charge and has high-brightness LED headlights for safe travels at night. And your dogs won’t be scared of a roaring engine — Mopet is quiet and totally electric.

Mopet has reached its crowdfunding goal but is still allowing backers to sign up to support the project with the lowest tier starting at 123,370 yen ($1,083.25 USD). The company will begin shipping out units in May 2022 and you can follow along with the crowdfunding campaign over on the Makuake website.

Great for hot days, senior dogs, or pups who simply don’t like to walk, Mopet is an awesome way to get your dog from one location to the next.
