Kata started her project with the very simple IKEA NORNÄS side table. Her handful of DIY additions to this plain pine table turned it into a cute and functional bar cart. Not near an IKEA? No problem. These DIY additions could be borrowed to turn any vintage or affordable table into your own bar cart.

From Kata:
This tiny little coffee table looks poor in its original shape. (IKEANORNAS). I wanted to make a more stylish, modern piece from it, so I painted it white and I added some extras: castors and handles, lath to imitate an extra tray on the top of the table. To make it more useful, I also added an extra shelf.
So good! Though Kata’s
blog is in Hungarian, you can easily get the idea of the hacks she made to this simple wood piece: She painted it white, added an extra shelf, added some gold spray-painted casters and perhaps the best touch, she added an extra lip of wood to the top so it feels more tray-like, capping it off with some gold handles.
Thank you, Kata!
