Bookshelf with Halloween-themed string lights, pumpkin and cat decorations, and various figurines.

There are two kinds of Halloween decorators: those who go cute and those who go spooky. I’m firmly in the cute camp. I’m drawn to timeless pieces with a little personality — a friendly ghost, a charming haunted house, or something that makes me smile when I spot it on a bookshelf. Add a few flickering candles and an excuse to watch Practical Magic, and I’m happy.

That’s what caught my eye while browsing Plow & Hearth’s Halloween collection. From ghost-shaped salt and pepper shakers to a haunted house advent calendar, there are so many fun finds I could see myself bringing out October after October. These are the 10 picks I’m adding to my cart for a little extra Halloween spirit this year.

Haunted House Broom with Movement
$28

This little witch’s broom looks like it belongs in the Owens sisters’ kitchen, which is reason enough for me to love it. Its motion-activated design makes it move, bringing a little unexpected magic to a tabletop or shelf.

Halloween Maple Indoor/Outdoor LED Branch, Set of 2
$47$32

I’d tuck these black maple branches into a favorite vase for an easy Halloween arrangement with a little drama. The battery-operated LED lights have seven settings, including orange and purple options, plus a timer to keep evenings feeling festive. Movie night feels even more special when there's mood lighting.

Lighted Halloween Witch Stakes, Set of 3
$110$95

These three witches hold hands and have glowing, flickering heads — exactly the sort of scene that would make me stop on a neighborhood walk. The included ground stakes make them easy to arrange in a front yard, ready to greet trick-or-treaters after dark.

Tabletop Halloween Ghosts, Set of 2
$120

Between the orange glasses, witch hat, and oversized candy corn, these ghosts clearly understood the assignment. I’d display the resin duo together on a console or bookshelf for a Halloween moment that’s full of personality.

Halloween Advent Calendar
$170

Why should Christmas have all the countdown fun? This haunted house advent calendar makes a convincing case for starting a new tradition. Fill its little compartments with candy, tiny treats, or notes, then give it a spot on a shelf where you can enjoy it all October.

Haunted House Salt & Pepper Shaker Ceramic Ghost, Set of 2
$13

These little ceramic salt and pepper ghosts are an easy way to bring Halloween to the dinner table without rearranging a thing. Their tiny jack-o’-lantern details are especially cute, and I’d happily leave them out for every meal throughout October.

Phantom Ceramic Candleholder, Tall
$22

This little ghost candlestick has such a sweet little expression, and its simple shape would fit right in with my existing decor. I’d add an orange or black taper candle and let it bring a little Halloween charm to the dinner table.

Trick or Sweets Tea Towel and Cookie Cutter Gift Set
$17$12

A seasonal kitchen towel is one of my favorite easy decorating swaps (that I learned from my mom!), and this set also includes a haunted house cookie cutter. It’s a cute excuse to bake Halloween sugar cookies — or a thoughtful little gift to bring to a friend’s October gathering.

Shake, Rattle & Roll Coir Mat
$22

These dancing skeletons look like they’re having the best time, and I love the idea of giving guests such a cheerful Halloween welcome. The coconut fiber mat also helps trap dirt, making it a practical seasonal swap for the entryway.

Pattern Pumpkins Shaped Coir Mat
$24

Clearly I couldn't decide which doormat I liked best. Stripes, checks, and polka dots give this pumpkin trio so much personality, and I love the playful shape. Heads up: This mat is backordered until December, but it's so cute it's worth shopping for now to get ready for next year!
