Picture frames don’t have to be boring. Designer Elaine Burns Thompson of Pistachio Designs says her clients have been gravitating toward bold frames with non-traditional patterned or printed mats. “They bring a bit more personality and color to a gallery wall or special photo (and also are super giftable!),” she says.

If you love these classic-meets-preppy design details, you’re in luck. “They bring a sense of playfulness and charm to a space, adding just the right touch of pattern to make a room feel warm and inviting,” says designer Thea Bloch-Neal of Curated by Thea.

Weave a historic-inspired touch into your home in the form of a wall mount candelabra. “They add a functional piece of art to any room or hallway,” Bloch-Neal says.

Designer Campbell Minister swears by marble accents when styling spaces. “A marble chain adds the perfect touch to a stack of books or as a stand-alone element on a dark piece of furniture,” she says. “Marble is both classic, of the moment, and here to stay.”

Anything textural and hand-crafted (think woven baskets, ceramic vases, and bouclé throws) will continue to be in vogue next year, explains designer Thayer Orelli of Thayer Woods Home and Style. These pieces “reflect an appreciation for artisanal quality and bring a cozy, layered aesthetic,”she says.

Go big with your light fixtures rather than settling for something subtle. “Oversized pendants in organic shapes and mixed materials, like metal and glass, continue to make a bold statement,” Orelli says. Designer Eve Jean, the founder of Style My Space, agrees. “These fixtures create warmth and dimension, ensuring they’ll stay in style for years to come,” she says.

Don’t stop at just a throw blanket or pillow when you can go all in with a larger bouclé piece, like an ottoman or headboard. “Bouclé is still making waves,” Jean says. “Its textured, cozy aesthetic creates a sense of warmth and sophistication — perfect for living spaces or bedrooms.”

Designer Ali Burgoon Nolan, founder of Studio Burgoon, can’t get enough of these decorative items, particularly vintage silver julep cups. “The patina of a well-loved vintage piece adds charm and depth to a space,” she says. She recommends browsing local antique shops, Etsy, or eBay to source these items at excellent price points.

Nolan refers to designer John Derian’s selection of plates and trays as “perennial favorites.” Why? “They’re accessible in terms of price and bring a perfect touch of warmth, character, and artistry to any space,” she says. “They feel unique while remaining classic.”

Vintage and thrifted finds as a whole will continue to shine in 2025, whether you opt for small vases, mirrors, bowls, or candlesticks, to name a few items. These pieces “have a unique charm that can’t be replicated,” says Orelli. “Whether it’s a mid-century vase, reclaimed mirror, or unique candle sticks, these items tell a story and bring character to last.”
