For those of us who know this soppy scenario all too well, this Kickstarter campaign for a fast-working countertop tumble dryer just might offer a solution we’ve been looking for.

Dubbed Morus Zero, the portable appliance purports to be the “world’s first countertop tumble dryer equipped with Vacuum+™ dehydration technology.” In other words, it has the ability to dry clothes extremely quickly—15 minutes!!—plus it saves up to 40 percent of energy in the process. The tiny powerhouse is made for small spaces and can fit just fine in an apartment, RV, or boat.

Pair it with a portable washing machine, and even apartment renters can have the in-unit laundry of their dreams.

The small dryer achieves its efficiency by utilizing a process that combines heat and lowers the air pressure inside to create an environment where water evaporates quickly. The creators of Morus Zero cite its user-friendliness, reverse tumble action, the bacteria-eliminating UV ultraviolet sterilization system, easy ventless installation and 15-minute drying time as qualities that set it apart from your average dryer.

A standout smart feature of the dryer is its moisture sensor system, which automatically turns off once the dryer can no longer detect moisture on the garments. Setup is super simple and only requires the user to plug in the device, press start and wait for bacteria, wrinkle-free— and most importantly—dry clothing.

The Morus Zero has already raised 10 times its goal on Kickstarter—and there are still six more days to go. The unit is available for pre-order starting at the $299 reward level, currently scheduled to ship in December. For more, check out the company’s campaign page.
