She may be across the pond these days, but is it possible that Meghan Markle will always be a California girl? The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly homesick for life on the West Coast.

“Meghan and Harry are looking for a place out here. I have heard that they are interested in Malibu,” Edmund Fry, an L.A.-area tearoom owner who once instructed the Duchess of Sussex in etiquette, told the Daily Express. “Knowing Meghan and talking to her, she misses home. Meghan is a Los Angeles girl, born and raised here with many links to Hollywood and friends here.”

Naturally, we’d love to hear that Meghan and Harry are heading back this way, and the team at realtor.com delved into some possible homes for Markle and Prince Harry right in Malibu.

“Meghan is an L.A. girl, and it’s only natural that she’d want to have a place there so she can stay close to friends and family,” says Cicely Wedgeworth, managing editor at realtor.com:  But the lifestyle of a royal is quite different from that of a TV actress!Fortunately, Malibu offers the right blend of luxury and privacy.”

Here’s a look at a couple Malibu maybes for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex:

If Meghan and Harry are itching for the same privacy they found in England, they may feel right at home in the Colony, the famed gated community in Malibu. That’s where they’ll find this three-story, French Country Villa-style home, a four-bed, four-bath estate right on the shores of the Pacific. The 3,984-square-foot home, which was built in 1930, is the epitome of the fantasy beach house. An open great room features a crackling fireplace and doors that open out directly to the outdoor entertainment deck on the waterfront, where you’ll find a fireplace, flat screen TV, and complete barbecue area- all possible without the prying eyes of paparazzi. Of course, Meghan and Harry would be paying for that extreme level of privacy—the house is listed at $16.75 million.

All the style of a European castle with the weather of Southern California? We dig it. And that’s exactly what Meghan and Harry would find at this five-bed, seven-and-a-half bath estate in the prestigious Winding Way neighborhood of Malibu. Tucked behind gates and up a long, winding drive, the 7,500-square-foot home embraces the Victorian-style, castle-like vibes. A sweeping staircase is as grand as it gets, and leads up to the spacious master bedroom that has stunning panoramic ocean views.

If they want to really go big, Harry and Meghan might as well just splurge on the priciest listing on the market in Malibu. Sure, it’s $100 million, but with the amount of attention they’d bring the property and the realtor, we’re guessing they could score a sweet discount. The 12,000-square-foot home is a six-bed, five-and-a-half bath property known as Case House 5. Designed by Scott Gillen/Unvarnished, the mid-century modern beauty is tucked within an exclusive 24-acre guard-gated community on the coveted Malibu Bluffs. It’s as far as you can get from stodgy British style, thanks to idyllic water features, enclosed light filled courtyards, and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. If Meghan’s itching for a change, this could be the ideal place to return to her California roots.
