At this point, I wouldn’t be exaggerating at all if I said the Mackenzie-Childs courtly check is iconic. The pattern has been going strong for over 25 years, popping up everywhere from Kardashians’ kitchens to the background of TikToks from influencers like Nara Smith and Alix Earle

I’ve appreciated all of the checkerboard remixes over the years, too. I remember when the parchment check was introduced maybe a decade ago. And I saw the rosy pink and emerald green designs, which both came out more recently. But I have to admit that — even as a pretty big fan of courtly check — I didn’t clock the gorgeous violet variant. All that changed, though, when I took a spin around QVC recently and noticed this bold new addition to the courtly check family. I went ahead and picked out a few pieces that caught my eye in this lovely shade. If you’re looking to update your kitchen or dining area, start here.

The Classic Tea Kettle

I don’t know why, but the courtly check looks so regal on a tea kettle. And although I generally am suspicious of “it” accessories, this one is as functional as it is pretty — especially if you enjoy tea with breakfast or after dinner. The violet shade works really well with the classic Mackenzie-Childs’ kettle details: the crystal knob and wooden handle.

A Trio of Cute Hand Towels

I know it’s not always the best idea to hang a hand towel from your oven handle — but that doesn’t mean you can’t find another spot in the kitchen (or a nearby bathroom, even) for some cute textile touches. This hand towel set features two violet check designs alongside a jaunty, coordinating fruit print. You could hang two from hooks in the kitchen, and put one on your powder room sink for guests. Or break up the set, keeping one for yourself and giving the other two as host gifts. It’s up to you!

Gorgeous Glasses

These tumblers are definitely a splurge, but the painterly design and gold trim make for a beautiful combination. I have one of these in a wintry blue and white check, and I use it all the time as a vase for flowers. But these would also be amazing for setting a spring- or summer-inspired table.
