Whenever I look at house tours or stumble upon captivating rooms on Pinterest, I always notice the styling details — specifically, how often elegant branches are artfully displayed in beautiful vases. The pros definitely understand the importance of natural touches and realize just how much dimension and life greenery can add to a space.

While I would love to be someone who could forage in their own yard for branches and flowers to use as decor, I live in New York City, and therefore, I don’t have trees at my disposal the way I would if I had a yard. Even if I did, though, I can’t imagine wanting to clip things all the time because I’m the type that likes to set it and forget it when it comes to florals. So I’ve settled for the best faux solution: $25 faux branches from Amazon, which I have to admit look pretty convincing.

I ordered these branches at the recommendation of someone I follow on Instagram, who has them in her own living room. She styled them so nicely, I assumed they had to be live branches from her yard or sourced from a speciality plant store, but I was wrong. I did a little bit of digging through her account and located the exact branches on Amazon. One quick Prime order later, and now they’re on top of the mantel in my living.

The branches fill the negative space above my mantel beautifully by bringing height to the whole vignette I’ve styled. They’re easy to bend as needed, so they can be stuffed into a smaller vase, or you can trim them with pliers for the perfect fit in your chosen vessel. What I like most about these, though, is how realistic the leaf placement is, which is key when shopping for faux branches and florals. It’s also amazing to not have to change the vase’s water, which you still should do with live branches. In fact, you don’t need water at all, but, of course, you could use some if you’re working with a clear vase and are committed to that air of realness.

I’m happy to report that my mother visited a few weekends ago, and these branches definitely fooled her. I’d like to order another set for a tall vessel I have in my bedroom and could see stockpiling some others to use for centerpieces when I entertain. If you’re hosting a spring gathering or just are looking for a chic, permanent centerpiece for your table, I couldn’t recommend these branches more. You can thank me later when all of the “Oh my goodness, I totally thought these were real!” comments come your way.
