Reese Witherspoon’s Reading Chair Matches Her Wallpaper

Reese Witherspoon is just trying to blend in. The actress posted a video to her Instagram on Jan. 18 sharing her latest read — “Anatomy” by Dana Schwartz — and broadcasted from her camouflage reading nook. Witherspoon’s reading chair is upholstered in the same pattern as her wallpaper and the entire space looks like something out of a Wes Anderson movie.

“I’m just sitting here enjoying this snowy afternoon,” Witherspoon said in her video. “It’s the perfect day to just cuddle up and read a great book.”

“Can we talk about that wallpaper tho?” one commenter wrote, to which another responded, “wallpaper and chair coordination no less.”

Witherspoon’s wallpaper and chair are covered in the pattern Chrysanthemum from Bennison Fabrics in the colorway Dark Blue on Oyster. Bennison has showrooms in both the U.K. and New York and specializes in classic floral prints. 

She accented the wallpaper with a white stripe in the corner that looks like piping you would find on upholstered furniture. The whole space basically looks like one huge cushion you can curl up on.

Matching wallpaper and upholstery is a design technique that’s been around for centuries and definitely isn’t for those who love minimalism.
