Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: We moved into our home seven years ago. It is an Edwardian farmhouse and was originally a dairy farm. The whole house needed renovating when we moved in. It had been let go to rack and ruin and we could not wait to bring back its charm and create our forever family home. We have worked through the house renovating it one room at a time, knocking through a few walls along the way.

A perfect example of how we restored some of the house’s original features

We started from scratch with absolutely no background in renovating a home. It is still a work in progress and we have learned A LOT along the way. At times it seemed that the work ahead was impossible and never-ending. It is so rewarding to look back now and I sometimes can’t believe how much we have done.

The family bathroom. We split a bedroom in two to create this bathroom and our en suite on the other side.

We are still continuing our renovation journey but seven years on can see that what we thought once was impossible is now most definitely possible. Patience is key!

The heart of our home.

I identify as a welcoming and homely person and I hope that this reflects in our home. People like to visit so I think that it does! I like to think that our home is charming and full character at the same time as being a very welcoming environment.

The front door never had a key to open it when we moved in. It was an absolute joy when we were finally able to open the door to this beautiful view.

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Traditional, Classic, Country

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room is the guest room, which was our latest project. I adore the color and feel of the room. It is traditional but very inviting.

Our most recent project. The guest bedroom.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? A chest of scotch pine drawers from our local antique pine warehouse. They have oodles of character and history. Pond Cottage Antiques.

Ted's bedroom. I love everything about his bedroom. The colour, the furniture, and all his little treasures.
