The Royal Family Revealed Their 2022 Christmas Cards, and Will and Kate’s Is So Casual
The royal family is ringing in the holidays by releasing their official Christmas cards, including the first-ever yuletide season card from King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
“We’re pleased to share this year’s Christmas Card from The King and The Queen Consort,” reads Charles and Camilla’s posts on social media.
Their card features a close-up photo of them — taken at the Braemar Games in September—wearing coordinated attires that reflect the season. On the other side is a message that reads, “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.”
It’s the first holiday card from Charles as king following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and the second after he released his first birthday card last month.
As for Prince William and Princess Kate, they posted a casual photo with their three children George, Charlotte, and Louis. Their post reads: “Sharing a new picture of the family for this year’s Christmas card!”
It’s tradition for the royal family to release a Christmas card every year, and they plan to continue it in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
“Christmas is always a really special time for the royal family,” said royal expert Katie Nicholl, per Entertainment Tonight. “They do traditionally come together and that has always been at Sandringham and my understanding is that King Charles III is going to follow his mother’s tradition and host a family Christmas at Sandringham this year.”
