RuPaul has become a household name and paved the way for countless others to have a voice. The four-time Emmy winner and “Drag Race” star also put his signature stamp on a 1960s home, so if you’re in the market for a $4.999 million dollar mid-century mod pad, it’s also for sale. Don’t let the normal specs—2,400 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths to be exact—lead you to believe it’s anything less than fabulous.

At first glimpse of the bright orange garage door from the street, potential buyers will know something special awaits. It opens to a grand entrance of orange, this time in the form of patterned wallpaper. That’s just the tip of the very bright iceberg that is RuPaul’s interior design.

Located next to the bar, the fireplace is textured and shiny with an eye-catching wall of windows framing a view of Los Angeles nearby. The best seat is definitely on one of the two sofas in yet another shade of orange, placed in perfect symmetry for staring out the windows.

If you can tear your eyes away from the view, you’ll see right through to the formal dining room with chairs add a regal shade of purple. The jewel tones, velvet fabric, and diminutive gold framed art set a spectacular dining atmosphere. Around the corner is the kitchen: a glossy space that offers an unexpected reprieve from all the bright colors. Other than the sculptural pendant light, there is nothing but blacks and grays to be found.

Now onto the bedrooms. One is transformed into a comfortable orange and black TV room. Bedroom number two boasts built-in storage galore, with natural tones in the carpet and darker walls. The bedroom started the calming effect, but the spa bathroom seals it. Here, orange is replaced by serene neutrals and creams with navy accents. The jacuzzi, mirrors, and luxurious details add to the ambience.

Step outside for more relaxation in pure Southern California style. There is a sleek pool and hot tub both with stunning views of Los Angeles. It’s safe to say this abode is fierce with a capital F.
