This Small Business Sells Completely Customizable Candles—And the New Range Is Dazzling

Scent Lab, a woman-owned, New York-based small business is changing the way we shop for candles with a completely customizable virtual candle bar that allows you to create the scent of your dreams. The latest collection, the Disco range, which launched earlier this week, features a beautiful selection of iridescent vessels that will add a dazzling touch to your home—Spellbound, Moondust, Dewdrop, and Roseglow.

To create a candle, shoppers pick their favorite vessel and choose up to three scent notes to be blended into 100% all-natural soy wax. Each of Scent Lab’s hand-poured candles has a 10-12 percent fragrance load and is free from harmful chemicals and toxins, with wicks made from organic cotton for a clean burn (of up to 80 hours per double-wicked candle.)

Choose from a dozen classic scent notes including sweet, woody, floral, and clean fragrances, or if you can’t decide on a favorite blend, opt for one of the suggested blends from the fragrance guide: cocoa butter, rose, and fireside; french lavender, crisp lemon, and bergamot and teakwood; and sugarberry, cedarwood blanc, and rose are just three of the best-selling note blends.

If you don’t know where to start, Scent Lab also offers a unique scent quiz that will allow you to determine the best scent for you based on your style and preferences. Customers can also choose to pour their own candle through a fun and interactive virtual hour-long workshop.

In Feb. 2022, the brand also launched its new spring collection featuring four fragrances that will help you welcome in the first hints of sunshine. Almond honey (sweet); Neroli & Jasmine (floral); Citrus & Sage (clean); and Palo Santo (woody) join the classic scents. The spring blends are available to add to any of the inaugural and Disco vessels.
