This Painting Is Actually a Dry Erase Board

Whiteboards are useful but not always the most attractive of office supplies. A team of designers, however, have come up with a clever fix: turn it into art.

Secret Whiteboard is a traditional whiteboard that, at first glance, looks like a painting. But once you open the frame like a book, it reveals the double-sided, magnetic whiteboard hiding behind. It’s a solution that’s simple but brilliant. Instead of stuffing the thing in a closet or drawer, why not just hide it in plain sight?

The whiteboard — which is currently funding on Kickstarter — is magnetic, so you can store markers, erasers, and sticky notes inside. The frame, meanwhile, can flip to open in either direction. As for the artwork, every board comes with an art print included, but you can also swap it out with your favorite posters.

According to the designers, they created Secret Whiteboard in response to the challenges of remote working. “Since working from home, we realized we needed essential office tools that don’t interfere with our living spaces, but instead improve them.”

They added: “Secret Whiteboard lets you physically and mentally close off work for the night and come back when you’re ready.”

Secret Whiteboard is available in small, medium, and large sizes, and in two frame colors, black and white. It has raised over $200,000 on Kickstarter so far, which probably makes it the most popular (not to mention most beautiful) whiteboard ever. Prices start at $109. You can learn more about it here.
