Our home is a 1960 Georgian Colonial that we have enjoyed since closing in December on our anniversary in 2016. We love taking our time purchasing furniture for all rooms in the home, we love to get a sense, a feeling and we are striving to only include pieces that speak to us, that we love.

Our family is a lively bunch. My husband and I and our four kids are very close. We operate our business out of our studio in our home while homeschooling our four kids. With so much energy in the home among us six, there’s always something exciting going on and always something to talk about.

Even with four lively kids, my husband and I find moments of adult time and we love hosting dinner parties where the topics of conversation range from diversity to parenting, film to art. For the past seven years my husband and I have operated an apothecary of green beauty products that are enjoyed from head to toe. We converted one of the five bedrooms into a studio for handcrafting products and shipping.

What is your favorite room and why? Ohh, that’s a difficult one as all of the rooms I love. I spend the most time in our living room..the sofa is just so comfy. My second favorite would be our sunroom in the spring. I fill it with greenery and enjoy music or conversations over wine.

Any advice for creating a home you love?

1. Get a good feel of the energy of your home before making huge investments in furniture. Rushing can cause you to over purchase and then regret previous purchases made.

2. Create an environment in your home that you truly don’t want to leave and absolutely love coming home to.

3. Collect items for your home that you absolutely love, otherwise you may bore of them and overspend.

Thanks, Dominique!
