According to her Instagram bio, Perry Fish is a photographer, writer, and music lover with a passion for anything creative. And that “anything creative” includes slinging vintage wares on Etsy, along with crafting an altogether delightful, one-of-a-kind home, which she shares with her partner, and their precious dog and cat.
Apartment Therapy Survey:
My Style: Eclectic / “Miami meets Texas”
Inspiration: We are really inspired by vintage tiki and western decor. We love thrifting and hunting for one-of-a-kind pieces at flea markets that will add something special to our home and give us a fun memory to think back on.
Favorite Element: When we viewed our apartment for the first time it was still decorated with the previous tenant’s belongings. Hung up on one of the walls was a giant, mirrored Patrick Nagel-like art piece. Her name is Laurel. We joked that we would take the apartment if she came with it. Lo and behold, she was left behind when they moved out and she now hangs above our dining table!
Biggest Challenge: Definitely being collectors/maximalists and living in a small space. We have to be very strategical with what we bring into our home and where it will fit in.
What Friends Say: Most people say, “I love all of your plants!” We have one main wall of windows in the living room and it makes for the perfect sunning spot for our plants (and our cat, Gene).
Biggest Embarrassment: We are embarrassed about how small and out of date our kitchen is. We do a lot of cooking at home, so it’s our dream to have a big, beautiful kitchen one day!
Proudest DIY: Our palm printed decal wall, the backdrop of our bar cart. We almost broke up trying to line it up on the wall. After three hours, we finally gave in and put it up in panels. We ended up loving the results!
Biggest Indulgence: Plants! There is no such thing as too many plants.
Best Advice: Be creative and don’t let a small space hold you back from decorating your apartment in a way that makes you happy.
Dream Sources: I wish we could have everything from @casafuentethrift and @joandjune!
