Name: Shana Cohen and all of the pets that are on our farm!
Location: Southwest Ranches, Florida
Size: 800 square feet
Years lived in: 5 years, owned

My home resides at the back end of my family’s farm, Blue Stallion Farm. It is small and cozy, both from the outside and within. The entrance of my home overlooks the paddocks and barn where the horses are kept, truly capturing my passion and essence.

Throughout my time living in my home, I have had the pleasure of sharing the warm space with two different roommates, at two different points in time. The first was a close friend of mine, and the second was my grandmother. However, currently, I live alone, awaiting my next guest to arrive!

My home consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, a full kitchen, and a living room area. I have a small patio in the back, where I keep my washer/dryer, and an outdoor seating area that is illuminated by twinkle lights at night.

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite space in my home is the living room/kitchen area; it is open and shared. I spend most of my time in my home there, whether it be lounging with friends on the couch, doing my work at the dining table, or preparing a meal in the kitchen. This space is my favorite because it captures the most amount of natural light from the outdoors.

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? If I could change one thing about my home, it would be a structural change: its insulation… every now and again, a few unwanted visitors tend to creep into my home, such as roaches and spiders.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? The last thing I bought for my home was my shower curtain for my bathtub, and I absolutely love it! I can’t find the direct link to the item, but here is the link to the Anthropologie site (shower curtains)!

Any advice for creating a home you love? My advice for creating a home you love is to not persistently seek pieces that will quickly fill the empty spaces, but to rather let the pieces find you. Naturally, by chance, fate, destiny, or whatever your beliefs are, you will happen to simply stumble upon the pieces that will truly make your house a home.
