This apartment was a miracle. I was moving to Lisbon and the rental options were not very good since the city is booming, so to find something very nice and not priced for tourism is like finding a jewel.

One day my very good friend Chiquinho called me to tell me his friend’s apartment was available, so I rented out without even seeing it; I just trust my friend Chiquinho a lot! It instantly became a little nest, a great space to produce ideas and to share with friends. It has a great layout and kind of just everything you want in a house altogether: windows and natural light in every space, a fireplace for the winter, a terrace overviewing the river, beautiful views from the kitchen, and just a very nice energy.

My Style: Simple, relaxed, a bit eclectic.

Inspiration: Tio Pedro Espiritu Santo (decorator)

Favorite Element: Wood, it makes everything so cozy and warm.

Biggest Challenge: This is my second residence; my first one is in Barcelona. So when I moved in I really didn’t want to spend a lot of money on decoration but I also didn’t want to IKEA my house. So I designed it little by little with the amazing vintage pieces you can still find around Portugal, where there is a great flea market twice a week and where if you take a drive for the weekend you can find “velhearias,” a kind of Portuguese flea market.

Biggest Indulgence: A super mattress, very important in my life!

Best Advice: Do not be afraid to mix and to use colors.

What’s your best home secret? I am becoming very fond of online auctions in Lisbon; they have amazing furniture and objects at a very good price. I also use Myrrh to clean the space and it leaves a very nice feeling.
