Smeg’s New Limited-Edition Fridges Are Cheerful and Champagne-Inspired
As if retro-inspired Italian appliance brand Smeg weren’t chic enough, the company has teamed up with French champagne house, Veuve Clicquot, to unveil two eye-catching new fridges (one small, one large).
Their partnership commemorates the 250th anniversary of Veuve Clicquot’s winery, Champagne Mason, which has been crafting state-of-the-art champagne since 1772.
To celebrate the occasion, Smeg and Veuve Clicquot have released two limited-edition fridges, decked out in the classic golden-yellow hue that can be found on the label of any Veuve Clicquot champagne bottle. You can even find the champagne brand’s iconic logo on the door!
Made in Italy, both the larger FAB28 refrigerator ($5,999.95) and the more petite FAB10 refrigerator ($3,999.95) feature energy-efficient LED interior lights, adjustable shelves, an automatic defroster, and Smeg’s trademark 1950s-inspired design. But before you go shopping for a bubbly-inspired fridge, there are some major differences between the two worth noting.
The FAB28 is a full-sized, one-door refrigerator featuring three adjustable glass shelves, two drawers, a freezer compartment with an ice tray, and a multi-flow cooling system. It even has built-in metal wine racks perfect for showing off your bottles — champagne and otherwise! If you’re looking to add a bold, sunny splash of color to your kitchen, this just might be the fridge for you.
On the other hand, the FAB10 is a mini fridge measuring just over three feet tall (which just so happens to be the same height as many standard kitchen counters). Featuring a compact freezer, two-shelf interior, and crisper drawer, this tiny refrigerator makes for a cheerful, space-saving addition to an office, home bar, family room… really, the possibilities are endless.
Both refrigerators are currently available on Williams Sonoma’s website, as well as London’s flagship Smeg store. They will also be available at Neiman Marcus come mid-November.
