Here we have a perfectly ordinary drop leaf dining table. You’ve seen its ilk at thrift stores, and maybe one is in your home right now. This particular one, however, has been totally transformed by a talented Game of Thrones fan into something you might see in The Red Keep.

How amazing does that look?? It could basically be used by Daenerys to take the Iron Throne.

The step-by-step was posted to Imgur yesterday by smife0, whose brother updated the table. It was first sanded, then the map burned into the surface using an oversized grid of the map and a soldering iron. Check out some of the details:

I’m remembering back to childhood wood burning projects, and that cursive and level of intricacy is NOT easy.

They also added the Targaryen house sigil to the leaf for an extra touch.
