Spring is an ideal time to take on home projects: You have plenty of light to work by, you can comfortably keep the windows open for fresh air, and you’re more likely to spot neighborhood garage sales to spark your creativity. But even with these advantages, you may still find yourself procrastinating on a full-room makeover.

If that’s the case, consider entering the Spring 2023 One Room Challenge. The self-guided, eight-week, and entirely free makeover race has just begun.

The concept behind One Room Challenge (ORC) is brilliant in its simplicity: Anyone can complete a single space’s overhaul within two months, as long as they update fellow before-and-after hopefuls along the way — whether that’s on a blog, through social media posts, or by using all of the above. Registration officially opened on April 6, and remains open until the second week of the challenge on April 15.

Apartment Therapy is the official media partner for One Room Challenge, so you’ll be able to catch plenty of amazing makeover reveals shared by participants once the work is through. (You can get a taste of what’s to come by checking out past One Room Challenge entries.)

Interested in taking part? Register here, then make sure to tag @ApartmentTherapy and use the hashtag #ORCAT to show off your progress on Instagram and TikTok. And don’t forget to share your results with us once your project’s complete!
