I’m not a DIY pro by any means, so whenever I see the terms “easy” and “rental-friendly” together in a design hack, I usually roll my eyes. But as someone who’s only managed to master peel-and-stick wallpaper, I’m here to tell you this $15 stained glass hack is actually legit — which makes sense, considering how fast it’s spreading on TikTok.

TikToker Hattie Kolp shared how she used the $15 faux stained glass sheet to cover up a window in her NYC apartment that had a subpar view. Before the hack, the window overlooked another brick wall that was close by, and after, it’s completely transformed with a light-catching view.

Mallory Fletchall of Reserve Home also tried the trend and documented her success. She used the decal on her skylight apartment window and the before and after is quite stunning; it makes her space look about 100 times more regal and chic, all for just $15.

So how can you pick up this stained glass sheet for your own space? It’s available on Amazon in multiple styles. The designers we linked to above both used the below floral print from Artscape, but there are so many different designs and looks to choose from, depending on your decor style.

Finally there’s a solution for that wonky window that overlooks your neighbor’s house, or the skylight that becomes too bright by noon! The best part? This stained glass decal is totally removable, which means it’s rental-friendly. You’re going to be living in your space for at least a year (depending on your lease), so you might as well make it the coziest, chicest 365 days of your life. Now you can make your windows look like they got the professional stained glass installation treatment for under $20.

An old English-style textured stained glass detail is perfect for any homes that embody cottage core, or even quiet luxury energy. I think it would also look great in a bathroom next to a large, regal tub.
