7 Amazon Purchases That Have Helped Me Organize My Life Without Sacrificing Style This Year
It’s no secret that many people feel better about their homes when they’re organized. Over the past year, I’ve made it a priority to really maximize functionality in my small space and purchase items that will make my daily life less stressful because let’s face it, we could all use a little less chaos right now. Honestly, even the smallest upgrades have worked wonders! To help you do the same, I’ve rounded up seven of my favorite products from Amazon that have helped me get the job done in my apartment and met — or exceeded! —my aesthetic expectations in the process.
Simple Trending 3-Tier Under Sink Organizer
Prior to the pandemic, I didn’t stock up on kitchen essentials like trash bags and disinfectant wipes, partly because I wasn’t home as frequently but also because making a single-item grocery store trip wasn’t an issue. Then came the world of online grocery orders (and trying to hit that minimum for free delivery!), and that led to having extras of all the essentials. Quickly, my small under-sink storage area started to become pretty unruly, and I knew I needed some kind of organizational system to keep everything in line. This drawer setup, featuring a larger bottom drawer, couldn’t be better for keeping trash bags within reach (even as a household of one, I end up emptying my kitchen trash can pretty frequently, so efficiency is key!). I use the smaller drawers to hold extra sponges, soaps, and even bottles of hand sanitizer, which is just an added bonus.

Jewelry Box Storage Organizer
Though I’m wearing less jewelry than I did when I worked in an office, I still have a few special rings and bracelets that I like to throw on every now and then. If I don’t keep pieces like these accessible, I’ll forget all about them, but rings are so easy to misplace. When I spotted this small jewelry box, I added it to my cart immediately. I love the simple design, neutral color, and the fact that it’s so compact yet features so many different compartments. When I begin traveling again, it’ll be perfect to toss in a suitcase, but for now, it looks super cute on my bathroom shelf, too.

Crestlive Products Vertical Dresser Storage Tower
When I purchased an at-home exercise bike last fall, I sold my bedroom dresser to make room for the bulky piece of equipment (unfortunately, this is one of the realities of living in a small space!). This meant that I had to get a bit creative with clothing storage. I own a lot of workout clothes, and living in athleisure for the past year certainly hasn’t encouraged me to temper this obsession! This cloth drawer storage system, which fits inside my hall closet, has become a huge life saver. I use it to stash sports bras, leggings, t-shirts, and even some work pants (which admittedly haven’t seen the light of day since early March 2020). I’ve loved using this system so much that I purchased another for a different closet in my apartment; that one holds winter hats and gloves, silk scarves, pajamas, and other lightweight essentials. It’s nice to know exactly where each category of clothing is located, and it’s so freeing to not rely on a gigantic dresser to stay organized.

Trademark Innovations Rectangular Seagrass Baskets
Someone please remind me to stop purchasing coffee in bulk! I’m definitely guilty of strolling the aisles of HomeGoods and stocking up on every delicious-sounding flavor of ground coffee and don’t even get me started on my need to have approximately five varieties of K-cups on hand at all times. When I realized my coffee situation was getting a bit out of control, I ordered this set of cute seagrass boxes, which I keep stacked up on top of my fridge. The largest box holds bags of ground coffee, K-cups go in the medium-sized box, and the top box stores tea. I couldn’t believe how affordable and stylish this set was when I came across it, and it’s by no means kitchen-specific. In fact, I may purchase another to use in the bathroom!

Coffee Scoop Clip
Speaking of coffee-, how cute is this adorable coffee bag clip and spoon tool? At $8 for a pack of two of these guys, I couldn’t resist. I love not having to reach into the drawer for a measuring spoon when scooping out coffee grounds each morning, and the brass hue just makes me so happy. I’m all about elevating everyday routines to make even the most basic tasks feel a bit more pleasant, and this tool does just that without breaking the bank.

Bliss Collections Daily Planner
As much as I love blocking out my workday on my Google calendar, I’m also a huge fan of good old-fashioned to-do lists. Working from home, I didn’t have a ton of great notepad options on hand but luckily came across this cute pink tear-off sheet pad that spoke to me right away. I love the different sections for writing down various types of daily goals, and the peppy florals just make me feel cheerful even when I have a ton on my plate. Now I just need to work on that daily water intake!

Vtopmart Airtight Food Storage Containers
I may or may not have purchased this plastic storage set after a bit of a mouse scare… but the good news is now my kitchen cabinets are nice and organized, and all of my snacks are safe! I always thought that matchy plastic storage bins were a bit excessive, but now that I’ve used them for several months, I’ve found that they really do bring me joy. I have more food on hand than usual due to working from home, so I’ve needed all the help I can get keeping everything orderly but still within sight. At just $20 for a set of six containers, this set couldn’t be a better deal.
