We Just Found a Dupe of West Elm’s Chic Fluted Sideboard Cabinet — And It’s $1,500 Cheaper

One of the most underrated pieces of furniture, in my humble opinion, is the sideboard — especially if you live in a small space. Also known as a buffet, cabinet, or media console, it clearly has many different possible uses. In fact, if you feel like one of your rooms is missing something but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is, it’s probably a long, multifunctional cabinet that not only serves to declutter but also define a space and add visual interest.

But a good sideboard can cost a lot of money; some of our favorites are from West Elm, and most of them easily exceed $1,000. Thankfully, retailers like Amazon deliver similarly stylish pieces for a fraction of the price. We were especially delighted to find the Svimi fluted sideboard, which retails for only $220. There are so many ways you can employ it in your home. The fact that it just so happens to look like something West Elm offers is merely an added bonus.

The Svimi sideboard comes in three different sizes and configurations, but we were particularly drawn to the version with two cabinet doors on each side and three drawers running down the middle. Thanks to these concealed compartments, you get plenty of storage space for all kinds of items. But the sideboard still measures under 50 inches wide, so it won’t take up a ton of floor space. Place it in your dining room to hold extra dishes and table linens or situate it behind the sofa to hold books, streaming accessories, and decorative items. You could even place it near the kitchen and create a coffee bar — the possibilities are endless! The cabinet comes in two colors, each offset by striking gold accents. Although the black looks undeniably sleek, it was the white version that immediately reminded us of West Elm’s Quinn collection.

Each piece in the Quinn line is characterized by fluted details, which add a modern, glamorous appeal. West Elm’s buffet is 11 inches wider than the Svimi sideboard, but it boasts the same two side cabinet doors and three middle drawers, not to mention those gold legs and drawer pulls. Although you can’t really beat West Elm’s exceptional craftsmanship, if the Quinn buffet is out of your budget, it’s nice to know that there’s something less expensive that achieves the same aesthetic.
