This $24 Style Gem Turns Everyday Keepsakes into Decor (I’m Buying 3!)
Displaying pieces that aren’t in traditional frames — like decorative plates, heirloom baking molds, ceramic tiles, or even unframed canvases — can be a challenge. But one Instagram post is going to inspire you to think outside the box (literally) and display your pieces on tabletop easels rather than frames on the wall.
It’s all thanks to an adorable Texas-based decor store, Oakstreet Shoppe, which is attracting shoppers nationwide for its gorgeous tabletop art mounts. The shop’s curators use them as an alternative way to display art and heirlooms. “We use our brass easels for art, plates, even a fish-shaped baking mold … they make anything, and everything feel extra special,” a caption of a recent Oakstreet Shoppe Instagram post reads. It’s a tip you’ll definitely want to steal.
Pottery Barn Also Has Created a Similar Tool
Oakstreet’s ingenious art mounts feature a screw system on a brass pole that helps you secure any piece in place just where you want it. They retail for over $200, which is comparable to getting artwork professionally framed.
However, Pottery Barn has a similar tabletop art mounting system that comes in an aged bronze finish. It’s fully adjustable and can hold pieces that measure anywhere between three and 19 inches in height. This mounting system is a bit more affordable at $129.
The Home Depot Is Offering a Similar Version, Too
If you’re open to trying a different style of tabletop easel, The Home Depot has a set of three fixed easels that are made in a high-end-looking brass finish. They’re not adjustable, but the three sizes included in each set give you plenty of leeway for displaying whatever item you have in mind.
The ball ends give these easels an upscale look, but they’re not expensive at all. In fact, the set of three will only set you back $24.
Zara’s Tabletop Easels Are Even More Affordable
Zara Home even has its own version of a tabletop easel, and this one looks like an heirloom piece of art in itself. It comes in two different heights, and it looks hand-crafted.
Use them to display cookbooks in the kitchen, unframed canvas boards, or records on your record stand.
Why You Should Experiment with Easels at Home
Whichever design you go for, you’ll love how versatile these mounting systems and tabletop easels are for displaying your favorite things. They’re renter-friendly, easy to move around when you need to refresh your space, and allow you to finally display that piece of unconventional art you’ve had in storage. Happy framing!
