These Crisp, Lightweight Sheets Are So Cooling That I Wish I’d Found Them Sooner
Now that it’s legitimately hot outside, my bed has gotten a complete flip from heavy to lightweight bedding, and the cooler the better. Even my pillows have to make the cut. If the cover’s not cool enough, it doesn’t make it onto the mattress. I have a few sets of sheets that I always come back to because I know for a fact that I’ll be comfortable. And if there’s one place where my comfort comes first, it’s in my home. Sitting in my room catching up on Only Murders in the Building isn’t as fun if my attention is split between the show and readjusting my bedding. It’s so easy to get attached to what you already know and love, but every now and then, there comes a brand or product that catches you off-guard and becomes a new favorite on your list. That’s what happened to me when I got to try Takasa’s Organic and Fairtrade Cool + Crisp Cotton Bed Sheet Set.
As someone who typically prefers sheets on the softer side of the spectrum, Takasa’s organic cotton sheets were a great surprise. They’re crisp, but not stiff, which made the sheets feel like a luxury to sleep in all night. It also helps that they come in a selection of earthy colors that automatically make you dream of a relaxing nature getaway. I got the sheets in Desert, a rich and lively yellow that adds warmth to your bedding, and couldn’t love it more. When I wake up in the morning, the color gives me an automatic boost of energy to jumpstart my day.
The Cool + Crisp Cotton Bed Sheet Set comes with a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheet has deep pockets that fit up to 17”, so if you have a thick mattress like me, coverage isn’t something you’ll have to worry about. The sheets are made of long-staple organic cotton with 300 thread count and crisp percale weave, making them incredibly smooth and refreshingly breathable. As a hot sleeper, I found them to be an ideal weight and feel. I haven’t overheated at night or felt the need to pull the sheets away from me in order to cool down. In fact, these sheets have been a set I keep coming back to as I swap bedding out between washes. Speaking of which, these sheets haven’t lost their quality after multiple trips through my laundry cycle. They feel just as fantastic as they did the first time I ever put them on my bed.
Takasa is a brand that’s new to me and one I’m glad to have found. In addition to their quality organic cotton sheets, you can also find matching Cool + Crisp duvet covers, bath towels, quilted comforters, flannel sheets (for when the weather cools back down), totes, and even baby bedding. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to try their towels, too, and they’re just as top notch as the sheets. I’m convinced that no matter what you pick from the brand, you’re going to get a stellar new bedding or bath essential for your home.
