IKEA’s Colorful Flatware Set Comes With 16 Pieces and Is Less Than $15

One of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received wasn’t a new mattress or a chest that had been passed down through generations. It wasn’t big or grand and could fit in the palm of my hand: Instead, it was four sets of green Sabre flatware. It was such a thoughtful gift because cutlery is an item that’s often overlooked — and it shouldn’t be, considering how frequently we use it. So when I spotted IKEA’s TÅNGMÄRLA 16-piece flatware set, I was intrigued.

What makes IKEA’s TÅNGMÄRLA so special is that the cutlery handles are a gorgeous pastel color, and I’d imagine holding a light pink knife would resemble a colored pencil or paintbrush. A 16-piece set (it comes with four spoons, four knives, four forks, and four teaspoons) costs less than $15. 

I first spotted the flatware in TikToker Charlotte Christianne’s (@charlottechristianne) video, where she showcases all her recent IKEA purchases in her home. Christianne’s home is so colorful and full of unique IKEA finds, and so it made total sense to spot the vibrant silverware in her sink. Viewers didn’t specifically comment on the silverware, instead appreciating the overall color palette of Christianne’s home. 

Unfortunately, the IKEA TÅNGMÄRLA colorful set is currently out of stock, but it’s expected to be restocked soon. It’s limited-edition cutlery, so it’s unsurprising that it sold out quickly. What I love most about the flatware is that it packs a lot of personality into small utensils. The website also boasts that the silverware’s sleek design makes it comfortable to hold. 

If you don’t want to wait until IKEA’s silverware is back in stock (I understand the excitement!), then consider this similar find from Amazon. While the colors are a bit more subdued and the price is a little higher than the IKEA TÅNGMÄRLA, this cutlery set is still bright and comes with 20 pieces. Plus, if you fall in love with a specific color, you can order an entire collection in that hue. Reviewers love the flatware, too. 

One anonymous reviewer on the cutlery’s Amazon page gave the set five stars and said, “I love the colors. The quality seems to be pretty nice. Highly recommend.” Trey, another reviewer, also gave the same rating and added, “I like everything about the silverware good quality for the money, I really like them.”
