Peek Inside Taylor Swift’s Former NYC Home

Ask any Taylor Swift fan about the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter’s extensive real estate portfolio, and they will surely know about the carriage house she rented in 2016, located at 23 Cornelia Street in New York City’s West Village.

This particular dwelling is the star of Swift’s 2019 song “Cornelia Street,” which details the “sacred new beginnings” of her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. Lyrics include “You hold my hand on the street / Walk me back to that apartment / Years ago, we were just inside / Barefoot in the kitchen.” Swift lived here while her primary New York residence, a Tribeca penthouse, was undergoing renovations, according to Page Six.

Today, 23 Cornelia Street is is a “corporate house” for Zanotta, an Italian furniture company. It was decorated by Alessia Genova of Tihany Design and fully furnished with pieces from Zanotta. Built in 1899, the five-story home boasts four bedrooms and six bathrooms across 5,500 square feet. It last sold in March of 2019, for $11.5 million.

Now known as Zanotta House New York, Swift’s former home is currently not lived in. Additionally, it has been declared a landmark by the Municipality of New York City. 

The famed former residence was open for tours earlier this month, as part of the New York Junior League’s Fall House Tour, one of many fundraising events hosted by the organization. This year’s Fall House Tour brought in $50,000 for the NYJL, and a date has already been set for their Spring House Tour. (No word yet on which New York City homes will be part of that itinerary, but surely it won’t disappoint.) 

Zanotta’s video tour of 23 Cornelia Street takes you inside the Taylor Swift-approved home. Amenities include a private indoor pool, a white marble staircase, double height ceilings, two private terraces, three fireplaces, and a private attached garage.
