Taylor Swift’s Former NYC Rental Is the Townhouse of Our ‘Wildest Dreams’
Want to live like T Swift? The pop star reportedly rented out this townhouse in the West Village while renovating her Tribeca home last summer. Now, the place is on the market for a cool $19.995 million. Welcome to New York, indeed.
Located at 23 Cornelia Street, the townhouse has five bedrooms and five full and two half bathrooms across three floors, totaling 5,500 square feet. The place has quite the laundry list of amenities, including exposed brick, one wood burning and two gas fireplaces, large closets, double height ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, a Murano glass chandelier, and of course, laundry. The garden level also boasts an indoor pool.
According to Vogue, Cornelia Street was laid out in 1794 on farmland owned by Robert Herring, who named it after his granddaughter Cornelia. The charming street was home to one of the city’s foremost speakeasies during Prohibition, The Jungle, at number 11, and poet W.H. Auden lived at number 7 from 1946 to 1951. Number 23 is a former carriage house that was built in 1912.
The property also has some sweet outdoor space: The garden level has a small garden, but the third floor has spacious front and rear terraces, and there’s also a rooftop terrace with a hot tub and separate outdoor kitchen, along with sweeping views of Manhattan.
Swift is rumored to have rented the place for $40,000 per month, and now the space is listed by Corcoran for $19.995 million.
